KITCORE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

DRUMCORE AND KITCORE COMPARISONS

Q: What is the difference between DrumCore and KitCore? I just want drum beats and they *both* seem to have drum beats and sounds?
A: The KitCore vs. DrumCore question really comes down to your style of working and whether you think you will use audio loops.

DrumCore User Profile

  • You use audio loops now or might in the future.
  • You want to make kits using your own sample libraries.
  • You would like to catalog your own MIDI and audio loops.
  • You would like to be able to use the drum program as stand-alone (for jamming, etc.) without always having to start a plug-in host application.

KitCore User Profile

  • You primarily create your own MIDI beats and just want quick access to a ton of great MIDI kits.
  • You want tons of great MIDI beats and kits and don't care about audio loops.

Q: What is the difference between KitCore Deluxe and DrumCore Deluxe content?
A: KitCore Deluxe MIDI content (kits and grooves) is the same MIDI content as in DrumCore Deluxe. There are user import capabilities in DrumCore (for user MIDI files and samples) that are not possible in KitCore.

Q: What is the difference between the MIDI instrument in KitCore and the one in DrumCore?
A: The MIDI drum instrument in DrumCore and KitCore are essentially the same. CPU use should be about the same for that reason. The big difference in features is that:

  • KitCore doesn't play audio loops.
  • You can't build kits in KitCore with your own .WAV and .AIF like you can with DrumCore. You *can* create hybrid kits using sounds from all the installed KitPacks and each pad has pitch, pan and volume. These hybrid kits can be easily saved as your own drumkit programs to reuse in your sessions. So that does provide alot of tweakability without importing other samples.

Q: Can I import my own MIDI beats into KitCore?
A: No, but you can in DrumCore.
